Emmy 2023: Uma edição memorável para Elton John
O músico britânico conquista título histórico

Na noite desta segunda-feira (15) ocorreu em Los Angeles, a 75º edição do Emmy Awards considerada a premiação mais importante na televisão. O evento que foi adiado devido a greve dos atores e roteiristas de Hollywood premiou os melhores programas e atores da TV americana.
As séries “Succession”, “The Bear” e “Treta” foram as principais homenageadas durante a celebração. Entretando, o grande marco da noite foi a premiação de um título histórico que nomeou o Elton John um “EGOT”. Essa sigla é usada para se referir à um artista que já recebeu um Emmy, Grammy, Oscar e Tony.
Elton John foi indicado a categoria de “Melhor Especial de Variedades ao Vivo” e venceu com o filme “Elton John: O Show da Despedida”, produzido para o canal de streaming americano Disney. O longa, registra sua ultima apresentação no ano de 2022 nos Estados Unidos.
O músico britânico, no entanto, não pode subir ao palco pois passou por uma cirurgia no joelho mas agradeceu por meio de uma publicação em seu perfil oficial do Instagram. “Nós ganhamos um Emmy e eu estou sobre as nuvens! Receber esse reconhecimento é uma prova da paixão e dedicação de todo mundo envolvido, e eu estou profundamente grato” comentou o artista. Ele também agradeceu a todos que participaram da turnê Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

A série “Succession” ficou com seis prêmios de drama, entre eles série de drama, ator para Kieran Culkin, atriz para Sarah Snook, e ator coadjuvante para Matthew Macfadyen. “The Bear” ganhou em outras seis categorias diferentes. Entre elas, série de comédia, ator para Jeremy Allen White, atriz coadjuvante para Ayo Edebiri e Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
